New Community Home and Location in Portland, OR

Near the beginning of this year, some friends and I qualified to live in Government Housing in the Low Income District of Portland, so we acted on the opportunity. We maintain a Christ centered community home as well as serve our community by feeding the poor, share with our neighbors, repair peoples bicycles, care giving to the elderly and new things to come! We choose to live simply and minimally to empower ourselves financially to spend more time with people and to nurture a humble and giving heart.
I spent this years beginning 2 months traveling throughout all of Portland highlighting the areas on a map that seem to have the most need, financially and spiritually. North East Portland's history is thick with culture, poverty, frustration and racism. As you can see from the map below, I have added a heart symbolizing our intentions and new location. Right in the middle!! Here are some photo's from outside my complex and last weeks Good In The Hood Parade which is basically an hour of elementary schools and low riders followed by a 3 day long neighborhood festival with BBQ, live music and more low riders.
